Echiejile Suffers Serious Injury, To Be Out For Weeks

Super Eagles and AS Monaco defender, Elderson Echiejile has suffered a serious hamstring injury that will sideline him for several weeks.

The AS Monaco player disclosed to Africanfootball.com that he sustained the injury while training with his French Ligue 1 side.


“I picked up a hamstring injury in training on Tuesday and will be out for weeks,” Africanfootball.com quoted Echiejile as saying on his official website – www.elderson3.com.
The left-footer has made 12 appearances for Monaco in Ligue 1 this season.
Elsewhere, Obafemi Martins has pleaded to Nigeria u-23 coach Samson Siasia to consider him as one of the three overage players’ to represent the country at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Martins, who was recently recalled to the senior national team by Sunday Oliseh after almost two years of absence having scored 15 goals in the Major League Soccer (MLS) for his American club, Seattle Sounders, said it would be fulfilling for him to play at the Olympics.
