Enyimba Sacks Kadiri Ikhana

The defending champion of the 2014/15 league season, Enyimba International of Aba have disengaged head coach of the team, Kadiri Ikhana from its services.

The veteran coach whom has led many local league clubs to victories will no longer handle the affairs of the team in the coming season, the team official has announced. However, he led the team to their seventh league title at the just concluded league season.

The contract of Ikhana has expired and the team has made it known that they don’t have the intention to renew his contract.

The spokesperson for the club, Farriel Alaputa announced his sack via a tweet on Thursday, adding that a new coach will be unveiled soon.
“Kadiri Ikhana’s contract as Technical Adviser of @EnyimbaFC will not be extended. A new manager will be appointed in the coming days to replace Kadiri Ikhana and guide the team next season,” He tweeted via the verified teams official handle @EnyimbaFC.
Enyimba are now the record holder as the Premier League with the highest league season title – they have won it seven times.
Meanwhile, Enyimba were crowned champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL), for a record breaking seventh time today, November 15, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
The Peoples Elephant played out a goalless draw with Sunshine Stars FC of Akure to finish the season on 70 points.
After 38 round of league games, the Aba Elephants garnered 70 points.
The Peoples elephants confirmed their status as champions last week with a 0-0 draw against title contender Warri Wolves.
Enyimba won the first leg 3-1 against Sunshine Stars in Aba with goals coming from Nzube Anaezemba, Ezekiel Bassey and an own goal by Stephen Eze while league topscorer Tunde Adeniji got the consolation strike.
